Anna Maria is well known for her beautiful and inspiring handwork. She sees this personal art form as being ready to burst through onto the popular scene. In fact, one of her latest ventures with Free Spirit is the beautiful pearl cotton and floss that came out in colors to coordinate with Loulouthi. “I am so excited to be part of what I would call a reawakening of needlework arts,” says Anna. “There have been huge advances in design and manufacturing in the yarn and fabric world, and I think we are just now starting to see interest return.”
Her Table Scarf Guest Tutorial features several needlework stitches combined for a lush, dimensional feel. This project reminds me of the embroidered linens my own grandmother made for us – simple yet elegant, they give any setting a warm, nostalgic ambience.
Anna Maria created her Guest Tutorial as a .pdf file. It includes beautiful photos and detailed instructions for how to do the hand embroidery stitches.
